Interview: A Snapshot of AT
Just thought I’d share an interview I did for a student’s project at SFSU…

Name: Allison Torneros
Age: 24
Where were you born? Daly City
Where do you currently reside? Los Angeles
How did you get started?
I can’t remember when I started drawing, because I’ve been drawing ever since I was a baby. But I started showing my artwork right out of high school when I was 18. A gallery curator found my website online and invited me to be a part of their group show in San Francisco. After that event, I started seeking out more opportunities to show my work, and the rest is history.
What current projects are you working on?
I’m all over the place.. At the moment I’m working on branding a bunch of new food trucks that are soon to come out, including Nom Nom Truck’s second truck (from Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race). Working on the launch of PowerwomenTV in New York.. I’m also in the beginning stages of getting set up with Disney so I guess we’ll see what kinda projects come from that. As for my art work, I’m always working on new stuff, got a few shows lined up for next year, some of which are part of a west coast tour, and I’m working on collaborating with a few different brands to license my artwork for their products. It’s an exciting time!
Define in your own words the meaning of art.
Art, at its very basis, is expression. It’s communicating a feeling, a thought, an emotion, a moment, an observation, through some visual means.
What does your art mean to you?
Art means everything to me, I couldn’t imagine my world without it. I guess you can say I also use my art as a sort of therapy..I’m a very anxious person, I’m pretty sure I suffer from anxiety… and when I’m just throwing paint around without a set plan it feels like I’m releasing all this crazy wound up energy
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Humanity, the people I meet, the things I read, it never really comes from one particular place. But strangely enough, I’ve been getting a lot of inspiration from online social media lately.
Name one person you look up to and why?
Too many.. I admire anyone who has the courage and the discipline to pursue their passions.
